Deciding without permission

October 2026

For a long time, a woman was asked to choose. Sensuality or intellect. Naturalness or authority. As if each quality cancelled the other, and presence had to be negotiated.

I do not accept that choice.

Naturalness is not the absence of a decision. It is the most demanding one. A woman who is natural has nothing to prove: she does what the moment asks of her and says what it requires, without asking anyone's permission.

This is the moment I design for. The After begins when the ceremony ends, when the protocol has been fulfilled and no one is waiting for anything. What a woman does then belongs to her alone.

A garment for that moment cannot ask for permission either. It cannot demand attention, nor apologise for having it. It must accompany a body that moves freely, and step aside so that she is what remains.

That is why I begin with the fabric and not with the effect. Effect asks to be seen. Fabric, well chosen, allows a woman to be.

Authority is not claimed. It is what remains when there is nothing left to justify.
